Medical Investigations 2012
This one-day course aimed at Basic Trainees who require a deeper understanding of Medical Investigations. It is designed to complement the two-week exam preparation courses and many trainees find it a useful addition to these courses.
The Medical Investigations course has been designed to assist trainees in developing the skills required to understand and interpret the full array of investigations commonly used in the assessment and management of patients with a range of medical conditions. The course consists of 40-minute sessions that cover the common and important conditions that have been identified in the Curriculum for Basic Training. Each session provides the opportunity to practice interpreting some investigations and ask questions. A comprehensive set of notes is provided.
Each session will focus on important clinical areas that may be examinable in the First Part FRACP examination. Interpretative strategies for a variety of investigations will be highlighted to ensure that you will be better equipped to interpret medical investigations at work and in the exam setting.
The course will consist of 10 sessions covering different investigations such as Radiologic interpretation, ABGs, Genetic, Renal, I.D., Endocrinology, Rheumatology, Haematology and Immunological Investigations and Interpretation of Neurophysiology.
